Laura and Josh

Laura and Josh were so much fun. It was a hot day during the San Diego heat wave but that didn't stop them from having a blast. We took the band's bus downtown and took some pics on the train tracks and in the streets. The wedding party was up for everything! And we didn't even get a ticket from double parking the bus. The reception was also amazing in typical Laura fashion. Josh played her a song on the piano that he wrote. Lots of dancing under the open roof at the Bristol.

Thanks guys for letting me be a part of your fab day!

In His Shoes

The In His Shoes session at Fort Adams was a huge hit and so much fun. Very challenging as well. We had a backdrop set up in case of rain, lots of props, and essential chocolate chip cookies as a reward for the dad's and little ones. Navy, Marine, Army, and Air Force were all represented, thanks guys!

I had to be quick going from families with 3 girls, to 3 boys, back to 2 girls, babies, newborns, 5 kids... It was awesome.

Paul Metzgar was a rock star and helped me both days. If anyone is going to be in the Texas area look him up, he's great!

Here are some samples:

Newport Sessions

It's starting to finally warm up here in Newport so I've been busy with family photos. The Rocks are just in my backyard and only a 1 minute walk. I am so sad to be leaving soon!

Here are some pics from the Altavilla, Roach, and Wilcox family sessions.

In His Shoes

In His Shoes is a series that I am currently working on here in Newport. I came up with the idea after talking to some of my friends who are starting to prepare for their husbands to deploy. Many of our military families go on 6-15 month deployments. When my husband PJ deployed I put photographs of him everywhere. There was a 16 X 20 mounted in my daughter Addy's room who was 6 months old. She knew him right away at his Homecoming.

The portrait session is for all military dads and their kids. I'm giving a free 5 X 7 keepsake portrait with the session. For the dads who are deploying in the next couple of years, I am giving them a complimentary 8 X 10 mounted portrait from the session. The idea was to create an heirloom portrait that will be something they can share for generations.

I have shot 4 sessions so far. I'm printing the flyers this week so I hope everyone likes them! Who knows- maybe I can recruit photographers all over to help out. We owe so much to the men and women who are fighting every day overseas. I know I am a proud spouse, and my kids are always in their dad's shoes...

Our dad is the smartest, funniest, bravest person we know.

I had so much fun with Marah, Gavin and James McGahey. Marah hammed it up while Gavin tried diligently to lift dad's rucksack.

When I grow up I want to be just like my daddy.

2 year old Robby was very serious about his dads flying gear. It wasn't hard to get him to try on Ron's boots, helmet, and play with his flashlight. He showed me his mini helicopter also. He was such a good sport that we all went to the park after the shoot.

Memories of you fill our home while you're away.

Newport Daffodils

Just down the street from our house in Newport there are 2 patches of bright yellow daffodils. I took some pictures the other day and here are some of my favorites. Cecilia is almost 1 and the cutest thing ever! And of course I had to shoot my dancing queen Adelaide. I didn't have to pose anything with her, she loved running through the flowers.
